Principal's Message

Welcome to Mount Biggs School Term 1 ,2024

Kia ora koutou e te whānau,

Welcome to the 2024 school year. We had our mihi whakatau to welcome new families and staff, it was great to have so many of our new whānau attend. Our staff and students were there to support and ensure the warmest welcome was offered to our new whānau as they begin there time at Mount Biggs School. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community. Mount Biggs School is the greatest place to be.

Teachers have spent numerous hours getting our physical spaces and classroom programmes ready for the term  ahead. It is a busy term with a lot of exciting actives and events planned.  We will have a whole school camp to Highland Home, Kainui Cluster events, swimming sports and other sports events throughout the term. Of course we have a annual Tough Kids Challenge this term which is being held on Friday, March 22. This is a incredible event not to be missed.

Please keep up to date with our school Community Newsletter found on our website; and download our 'Skool Loop' app found in the app store on your phone - it is free and a great place to keep informed about whats coming up in our busy school via our school calendar, Community newsletters, Mount Biggs Bulletin and being able to do absences.

I invite you watch a wonderful episode of Waka Huia where our local iwi, Ngati Kauwhata, highlights their whakapapa. We continue to work closely with our iwi and enjoy the growing strength of this partnership.  Ngati Kauwhata

We are looking forward to another exciting term and year ahead at Mount Biggs School.
